Podcasting is the creation of content and distribution of audio files to a computer. You can listen to it anytime and is most commonly used for education purposes.

ICT'S IN THE DIGITAL AGE
Information Communication technology is taking the information literacy by storm. ICT's form part of our lives as we make use of it daily. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is defined as any communication device or application; radio, television, cell phone, computer and network hardware software, etc.
I am registered for the ICT module and I am so excited about what I am going to learn. Last week we looked at web 2.0 : Blogging, Google Docs and Wikis. I enjoyed creating my own blog meaning I'm a blogger now 😊. It was also interested to learn more about Google Docs and not by storing or keeping document only. I was able to send and receive documents from my colleague and being able to edit and send messages to each other. As a person who likes to explore and do things on my own the lecturer showed us how to use Instructables websites about DIY.
By the end of this module I will be techno savvy!
"We live in age of information where flow of information is constant and internet plays an important role in this flow of information sharing and exchange". Web 2.0 technologies is the focus of this module. Last week we looked at podcasting, Twitter and Libguides.
Podcasting is the practice of using the internet to make a digital recording available for downloading to a computer or a mobile device. The recording or audio files prepared and distributed by the use of RSS feeds to the computers of subscribers. The word podcast come from The words: Ipod+ broadcasting. The interesting thing about podcasts is that you can listen to podcasts anytime and anywhere you want.
Twitter was the one I enjoyed the most and had already an account. Twitter is a free social networking microblogging service that allows registered members to broadcast short posts called tweets. Twitter members can broadcast tweets and follow other users' tweets. Twitter is so much fun as you can see and follow on what is trending in the country and the world. On Twitter pictures or images can be posted.
Libguides is a web 2.0 content management and publishing system created by springshare.Librarians use it to curate knowledge and share information, organize class and subject specific resources, and to create and manage websites.
Copyright is legal right to use using someone's work with by permission.It is a form of intellectual property that is regulated by Act 98 of 1978. Copyright is the protecting of ones work. Material that can be copyrighted are videos, films. DVD's, printing works like books and photos, music, corporation annual reports and other works. It can be published or unpublished work.
